Arlington Hts. police charge man with Friday's Bank One robbery.(News)

Patrick Kolman had four days and 20 minutes to enjoy the money police say he stole from an Arlington Heights bank.
He may now get up to 20 years in federal prison to think about it.
Arlington Heights police said Kolman took nearly $11,000 from Bank One, 43 E. Golf Road, at 5aep.m. Friday.
Police officers and FBI agents arrested Kolman, 50, of no known address, at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, at Touhy Avenue and Webster Lane in Des Plaines.
Kolman was charged Wednesday in U.S. District Court with bank robbery. Magistrate Judge Nan Nolan ordered him held without bond pending an arraignment either today or Friday.
He is being held at the Metropolitan Correctional Center.
The June 9 heist was the 36th bank robbery reported this year in the Northwest suburbs, FBI spokesman Ross Rice said.
"That's actually low," Rice said. "That's actually down from last year," when there were 82 bank robberies.
Arlington Heights police Cmdr. Thomas Kopp said Kolman was in the bank for three or four minutes before walking up to a teller and handing her a note saying he had a gun, demanding money and telling her to put the cash in a bag.
Kolman never showed a weapon, however, Kopp said. Kolman eventually drove off alone in a minivan, Kopp added.
No one was hurt during the robbery, Kopp said.
Police and federal agents were able to find Kolman because they had a license plate number, Kopp said.
"We had a license plate, found out where he was and followed him for a while," Kopp said.
Kolman was driving on a revoked license and police might attempt to file charges against him for that, Kopp said.
Bank One officials declined to comment on the robbery.
"Obviously our first concern is for our customers and our employees. Beyond that, we don't talk about the training for our employees," spokesman Stan Lata said.
